The tendency of the Tamils that reverence is revealed only by erecting statues should go. Instead of keeping Tiruvalluvar tied inside gunny bag for more than a decade, the Bangalore Tamil sangam could have printed thousands and thousands copies of Kannada and English versions of Tirukkural and distributed free to schools and colleges and libraries in Karnataka, a fitting regard for Tiruvalluvar. IT would have been a real tribute and homage to Tiruvalluvar.
