Really you touched a nerve. Reminds me a Nagesh's song in a 1960s movie where he mentions this queue problem everywhere due to population.

While I was standing in ঺঺঺a queue in walmart with my colleague, there were actually about twenty people standing in 4 queues in 4 billing counters and they suddenly opened 3 more billing counters.

I tried to move to the freed counter and my colleague stopped me saying people are already standing before us. We just arrived at this queue; so let us allow the gentleman before us to move to the next counter. The same guy would behave differently if he were in India - I am sure.

The thing is that we are not good or bad. See there are two hundred people in a queue in government office - and they open only one counter. why not say open 20 counters to cater to more people? In banks, two three staffs will just gossip, while there will be 50 people standing in for a particular counter... Its really disgusting.

In some places, there will be two or three counters for different purposes and all are crowded. A number of people would be standing in wrong queue and there will be a mess.

I can go on like this... hmm, it will take another hundred years for us to change this.
